Christian Savelli joins Tourism Economics

We are pleased to announce that Christian Savelli has joined the team at Tourism Economics, an Oxford Economics company, as Director, Cruise Analytics.

Christian's arrival coincides with Tourism Economics' acquisition of GP Wild, an organization that for years has delivered detailed cruise sector business intelligence to the worldwide cruise community. In his role, Christian will revitalize and enrich the existing datasets by leveraging Tourism Economics' unique expertise in global travel. The new offering will provide the cruise community with access to global data and forecasts of cruise activity as a definitive guide for market trends and opportunities.

Savelli is a seasoned professional with decades of experience in research and intelligence and joins Tourism Economics from Cruise Lines International Association, where for more than six years, he served as Vice President, Research and Business Analytics.  He has a rich background in developing business intelligence solutions, conducting analysis and research, and synthesizing input from multiple sources to deliver executive recommendations. Before CLIA, Savelli was the Senior Director of Business Intelligence and Research at MPI (Meeting Professionals International) and Director of Business Intelligence at Maritz Travel. Additionally, he has ten years of experience in the hotel industry and holds an MBA from Kenan-Flagler Business School, UNC-Chapel Hill. Christian notes that “the mix of GP Wild cruise intelligence and Tourism Economics global travel data will create the most comprehensive and accurate resource for the cruise industry available.”
